AI-Powered SaaS Platform — Case Study

Client: Series A FinTech startup (US)
Industry: Financial Technology
AI-powered multi-tenant SaaS platform with billing dashboard built by Xeverse

The Challenge

A growth-stage FinTech team had validated demand for an AI-assisted compliance workflow but was stuck between prototype and production. Their existing MVP ran on a single-tenant architecture with manual onboarding, no subscription billing, and AI features bolted onto legacy scripts. Customer pilots were expanding faster than the infrastructure could support — tenant isolation, audit logging, and usage-based billing were non-negotiable for enterprise buyers.

The founding team needed a platform that could onboard new organizations in minutes, enforce role-based access across departments, and deliver AI-generated compliance summaries without sacrificing data privacy. They had eight weeks before a signed enterprise pilot and no in-house capacity to rebuild auth, billing, and model orchestration while keeping the product live for early adopters.

The Solution

Xeverse rebuilt the product as a multi-tenant SaaS platform on Next.js with a dedicated API layer, PostgreSQL row-level security, and Stripe Billing for tiered subscriptions. We designed an organization-first data model where every query is scoped by tenant ID, eliminating cross-customer data risk from day one.

For AI capabilities, we implemented a retrieval-augmented pipeline using OpenAI with per-tenant vector indexes, prompt guardrails, and structured output validation. Compliance officers receive draft summaries they can edit before export — keeping humans in the loop for regulated workflows. A real-time analytics dashboard surfaces usage, model costs, and processing queues so finance and ops teams have full visibility.

We integrated Stripe Checkout and Customer Portal for self-serve upgrades, webhook-driven provisioning for new tenants, and email notifications via transactional templates. The admin console gives internal teams tools to impersonate tenants for support, manage feature flags, and monitor system health.

Delivery followed a two-week sprint cadence: architecture and auth in sprint one, billing and tenant onboarding in sprint two, AI pipeline and dashboard in sprints three and four. We shipped to production with CI/CD, staging environments, and observability hooks. The platform launched on schedule and supported the enterprise pilot without downtime.

Xeverse delivered an exceptional AI-powered platform that exceeded our expectations. Their technical depth and communication throughout was outstanding — truly a world-class team.
